MANDATORY: IN 1ST BLOCK 3/12/25

This is a notification for high school teachers regarding the East Baton Rouge Parish School Systems annual training requirements on bullying, suicide prevention, and drug prevention. As part of our district’s efforts to ensure student safety and well-being, we are requiring all students to participate in this training.

Student Training Requirements:

All middle and high school students are required to receive annual trainings on bullying, suicide, and drug prevention. Our district is utilizing the Vector Solutions Safe Schools Modules to conduct this training. The Safe Schools Student Safety and Wellness Program is an engaging, online, video-based module designed to enhance student safety and well-being.

Action Items:

On Wednesday, March 12th, during your 1st block class, please show the following videos to your students:

After the video, please have students sign a paper copy sign-in sheet (attached). Please complete the top portion of the sign-in sheet and submit it to Ms. Signater upon completion.

Additionally, please fill out the Safe School Student Training Google Form (link available in the pacing guide).

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Signater.

END OF 3RD NINE WEEKS - FRIDAY 3/14/2025

As we approach the end of the 3rd nine weeks on March 14, I want to remind everyone of the importance of entering all grades into JCampus promptly.

Also, I wanted to share that I’ve started the countdown for our seniors—we have just 37 days left until their last day! Let’s encourage our students to finish strong and make the most of this time.

If you are a NEW teacher and are experiencing any difficulties with the grade submission process in JCampus, please do not hesitate to reach out to your administrator or one of the school counselors for assistance. It’s crucial that we ensure all grades are submitted on time to maintain accurate records.

Your support and dedication make a significant difference in their success. Let’s work together to help them achieve their goals in these final weeks!

LAST DAY FOR FIELD TRIPS INFO

Please refer to the attached memo regarding the last day for field trips. We ask that you review the details and ensure that all necessary arrangements are made accordingly. Additionally, as we approach the end of the school year, please start planning for the upcoming end-of-year activities. If you need any guidance or have questions regarding these events, feel free to reach out to your Executive Director or Director for assistance.

ELPT Testing begins on February 10, so we are asking all (school-wide) EL students to please attend school daily and listen for your name to be called or ask your teacher if you are scheduled to take the test that day. Teachers, we appreciate your help with this!

Suggested ways teachers can help:

  1.  The students have a Fry List of Sight Words if you have a chance please ask them to read the list to you. There will be a list every class so they have plenty.
  2. They are learning to read and follow directions. It was explained to them to use the check off method. So, when they complete one direction then they will check it off. They are to do so with all the directions and double check the check marks before turning it in. We start with put your name and date on the paper and do nothing else every class.
  3. Use picture cards to get them to write sentences. You can check out a box in the library.
  4. Writing paragraphs we do (7 sentences at 3 pts. each) the point incentive actually works with them. Make it something they can relate to and model your expectations.

Side note-if they pass the ELPT and are placed out of ESL, then they will receive a seal on their diploma for being bi-lingual, which could really help them in the future!

REMINDER FROM OUR LIBRARIANS AND IT

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity, we are implementing CyberNut security onboarding. This initiative will streamline how we handle suspicious and spam emails, ensuring a safer digital environment for everyone.

Going forward, please submit any suspicious or spam emails directly to the district for review. For a step-by-step guide on how to report these emails, please watch this short video: CyberNut Reporting Instructions.
