Woodlawn High will finally take its Panther Stadium field Friday evening in the football team’s first true home game of 2022.
The Panthers will host G.W. Carver at 7 p.m. after back-to-back weeks away in a rescheduled and relocated opener against University Lab at East Iberville on Sept. 2 and a road trip to Lafayette Christian on Sept. 9.
Coach Marcus Randall and company hope to continue building upon progress they saw last week after a slow start.
And the players are excited for the opportunity to compete in front of their home crowd for the first time this regular season.
“It feels good to know we’re gonna be home,” senior athlete Clayton Adams said. “It’s gonna be lit. It’s gonna be turnt. Everybody’s gonna be hyped up.”
Fans are encouraged to show their spirit by dressing to represent previous decades’ styles and fashions as Woodlawn hopes to “Rewind the Rams.”
Faculty and parents have designated the 1960s, seniors the 1970s, juniors the 1980s, sophomores the 1990s and freshmen the 2000s.
