Woodlawn High School is proud to recognize Taylor Albert as the 2024-2025 Student of the Year! She was also a finalist for the East Baton Rouge Parish Student of the Year, further highlighting her exceptional achievements. Taylor’s dedication to academic excellence, leadership, and service sets her apart as an outstanding representative of our school community.

A distinguished scholar, Taylor ranks in the top 1% of the Great Scholars Academy and actively contributes to the Superintendent Student Panel. She is a STEM Challenge Team Member and Mentor, and in 2024, her team won first place in East Baton Rouge Parish. Taylor is also an accomplished Model United Nations participant and holds leadership roles as the National Honor Society Secretary (2023-2025) and the President of the Youth and Government Club (2022). Additionally, Taylor is a Student Advisory Council Member, a School Ambassador for Woodlawn High School’s Great Scholars Academy Program, and she made the Principal’s List (2021-2023) and earned an Academic Letter (2022).

Beyond her academic and extracurricular commitments, Taylor is deeply involved in her community. She served as the Vice President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Young Women’s Group and volunteers her time with organizations such as the Special Olympics and the Foundations of Education program, assisting as a classroom observer, teacher’s aide, and library aide. She also tutors grades 6-8 students and provides special needs childcare. In addition, Taylor led a successful Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief Fundraiser, demonstrating her passion for global service.

Taylor’s academic excellence has earned her acceptance into Tulane University, Louisiana State University, Southeastern University, and Loyola University. Inspired by her grandfather, who attended medical school at Tulane University and dreamed of becoming a doctor, Taylor hopes to follow in his footsteps—but with her own unique path as a travel doctor.

Taylor Albert’s dedication, leadership, and compassion exemplify the values of Woodlawn High School. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and look forward to seeing all that she will achieve in the future. Congratulations, Taylor! Keep making us proud!
